Dean Holmen, President
Meet our President, Dean Holmen
Dean Holmen was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, where at the age of ten, he was playing drums and guitar, and at the age of thirteen had his first band playing 50s and 60s music. His heart was in traditional country music, though, and the following year, in 1973, he started his own country music band. He continued to play at school dances and at local gigs until he joined the U S Army in 1977. While in the service at Fort Campbell, KY, he joined a band in Clarksville, Tennessee and afterwards was sent to Germany, where he was on special duty assignment to play Non-Commissioned Officers and Officers clubs all over Germany. He returned to Clarksville, TN, and began playing with a local country band until he was released from the service, at which time he returned to Wisconsin.
In 1985 he released his first recording with the Silver Wings Band and played all over the Midwest.
Dean came to Nashville in 2002, releasing an album the following year that featured his staple song, “Dear Hank”, which garnered him a top ten hit in Europe and today is his most requested and most played song.
In 2015, Dean started the Music City Hayride to fund charities, which is performed May through December each year.
With all of the experience that he has had in country music, he brings a great deal of knowledge and passion into Century II, supporting traditional country music artists in many ways through the Music City Hayride and also through his work with the artists of Century II Records. He welcomes you to look throughout our website and come back to visit often.
