Marty Dunn
Marty Dunn is a traditional country artist that has been influenced by several iconic country artists. His father played both country and bluegrass music as he was growing up along with both of his brothers, and his dad taught him how to sing and play guitar. He began singing and playing at the age of 6.
Marty Dunn is named after one of the greats in the history of more recent years, Marty Robbins, and in addition to Marty Robbins, his influences have included such luminary figures as George Jones, Merle Haggard, Ralph Stanley, Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens, Wynn Stewart, Keith Whitley, and of course his own father.
Marty has been playing professionally for more than 20 years, opening for country artists all over the country, including George Jones and Merle Haggard. He has also played in many various bluegrass and traditional country bands through the years including opening for the great Ralph Stanley, Third Time Out, and Larry Sparks. He was a regular performer on the RFD TV show Cumberland Highlanders for several years as well, where he was able to sing lead, tenor, baritone, and high baritone.
He enjoys continuing to play in a bluegrass band as well as freelancing and singing lead with different country bands as he is needed.
